My honours degree in textiles provided me with a strong foundation in materials, textures, and their applications. This knowledge inspired me to delve further into the world of design, leading me to pursue the interior design diploma after I completed my degree. Throughout the intense diploma course at KLC, I have thoroughly enjoyed working on a diverse range of projects including residential, commercial, and bespoke joinery.
Learning new software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, and InDesign has not only expanded my technical toolkit, but has allowed me to envision my designs. I have enjoyed working on diverse design briefs. I take pride in my ability to solve the problems presented to us, to come to a solution that has enabled me to channel my creativity and create unique concepts for each project.
Looking back at my experiences over the last year, I am appreciative of the hard work KLC has put us through, as it has definitely helped me to blossom into the keen and budding designer that I am today. The support of such a lovely and helpful cohort has been invaluable, turning challenges into opportunities for shared learning. It is within this collaborative environment that I have found inspiration and motivation to elevate my skills.
I am very much looking forward to translating my newfound skills and insights into a fulfilling career in interior design. The last year has been challenging yet rewarding and above all, I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead.
