Julia Millard
Hi! I am Julia. I have relished the opportunity to go back to school and explore my passion for Interior Design at KLC.
I have been fascinated to discover more sustainable, conscious ways to design; combining aesthetics with ethics and infusing every project with a commitment to the environment by prioritising the use of high quality materials, reducing waste, and promoting ethical production methods. I aim to create designs that are not only visually captivating, but also contribute positively to the world we live in.
My designs use reclaimed and reused elements alongside innovative new materials and heritage crafts, maximising local skills and craftsmanship. I believe this is the way forward for design; enhancing wellbeing in the process - and investing in local people too.
Through my work, I have drawn on my ever-growing technical knowledge, enabling me to transform my ideas into tangible solutions, enhanced by bespoke joinery and thoughtful detailing; designing to improve functionality and enhance the experience for the people who use the space, bringing in biophilic elements, natural materials and a carefully considered use of colour, pattern and texture. It is important to me that my designs have contextual relevance, taking direct inspiration from a building’s surrounding natural and built environment.
In the future, I would love to set up my own studio, creating thoughtful and inspiring design solutions.
