Lorna Collins
With a background in textile design, photographic fashion & interiors styling, fashion merchandising and homeware buying before successfully running my own interiors gift shop, my varied career has always allowed me to express my creativity.
I split my time living between the UK and China. Travel across Europe and Asia has opened my eyes to cultural influences which I interweave into my designs to create contemporary interiors. Living in China has consolidated these influences as it has done in my home city Shanghai, where a mix of colonial and Chinese styles fused together has created a unique aesthetic.
Inspired by architecture, textiles, ceramics and traditional materials, my interiors allow furniture, furnishings and beautiful objects to be the focus, curating spaces that people feel comfortable spending time in.
Whether designing residential, hospitality or commercial spaces, each interior is inspired by location, local architecture, culture and the people who will inhabit the design, resulting in an individual, bespoke response to every brief.
I favour a sustainable approach, embracing contemporary ecological materials alongside traditionally crafted products.
Unafraid of colour, I enjoy confidently drawing bold tones and patterns together harmoniously to create joyful, textural schemes.
Juxtaposing high/low, old/new, practical/beautiful. I believe the key to creating a wonderful interior space is finding balance and harmony.
