Andrew Mensah
As a garden designer, I view each project as an opportunity to create spaces that honour both the natural world and the diverse communities they serve. Whilst my approach is rooted in sustainable design principles, I've come to understand that this also extends beyond ecological considerations to embrace social sustainability also.
The evolving conversations in horticulture have profoundly influenced my work and I’m stimulated by emerging voices that challenge traditional horticultural paradigms. This has reframed my outlook leading me to consider not just environmental impact, but also cultural significance, accessibility, and diverse ways people engage with gardens.
My work focuses on creating beautiful atmospheric spaces that bridge traditional horticultural knowledge with contemporary social awareness. Whether designing private gardens, or creating accessible spaces that welcome people of all abilities, I want to demonstrate that sustainability and inclusivity are naturally complementary principles. I'm committed to being part of the movement that reimagines gardens as spaces of both environmental stewardship and social connection.
