Diploma Garden Design

Working as a garden designer is an honour and a joy. When I first began gardening with a local residents’ group 14 years ago I found peace and connection in an increasingly instant and synthetic world. Since then I’ve had the privilege of learning from the gardeners at the Inner Temple Garden as a volunteer for three years and in 2022 I took on my first residential design projects.

I aim to create graceful yet resilient gardens that will stand the test of time, evolving through the seasons alongside the people and pollinators that inhabit and nurture them. My previous roles in corporate communications and arts development in the charitable sector have given me an appreciation of fostering professional yet informal client-led relationships that can flourish to bring a vision to life.

Having completed my Diploma at KLC, I am armed with a widened professional offering, a robust new skillset, and an expanded network within the industry.  I continue to work on residential garden designs including two ongoing collaborations with architects Mosley Thorold. I also hope to expand my horticultural practice into therapeutic settings and deliver projects across other creative industries. With a lifelong interest in dance and fashion I am interested in how garden designers direct people through space, like the choreographer for the stage or the designer for the runway. I intend to develop a varied and inspiring portfolio, bringing a unique character to each design while acknowledging, preserving, and learning about the ecological and/or social systems in which they are set. Above all I would like my work to bring joy, and to celebrate the exquisite and remarkable power of nature.
