Diploma Garden Design
I am a big fan of water, mountains, trees and meadows, and insatiably curious… My background in community work, history and theology has ultimately drawn me to gardens, in a roundabout way – there is a common thread, I promise!
Fundamentally, I am drawn to the philosophy of being ‘led by the land’. I see this as an approach that takes into consideration a sense of place – that acknowledges history, ecology, geology and culture in order that we become meaningful, thoughtful participants in the world, rather than just observers. Sometimes this feels like a difficult path to tread but, with care, I believe this long-term approach leads to evolving, collaborative beauty, restoration and flourishing, as we inhabit spaces that bring us and, those we share the land with, life.
I love developing micro-ecosystems that feel right for a place; creative problem solving; working through strategic interventions that can transform a space for the future; and working together!
