DipHE Applied Interior Design
Hi, I’m Maia! A 24-year-old interior designer and KLC School of Design graduate, I bring a passion for residential and hospitality interiors. My work was selected for exhibition at New Designers 2025, showcasing industry-recognised interior design work of a high standard. With a background in BA Sociology and Criminology from the University of Exeter, I bring an understanding of how people live and interact, which influences how I approach design. With 8 years of hands-on experience in the hospitality industry I have gained valuable insight into the operational and spatial needs of hotels, restaurants, and bars. I am naturally creative individual, I also enjoy producing my own artwork, which continues to inform and inspire my passion for interior design. Having grown up on the South Coast, I am drawn to interiors that are relaxed, warm, welcoming and vibrant.
As a deaf designer with a background in hospitality, I understand how important it is for interiors to balance function and comfort. I’m passionate about accessibility and believe inclusive spaces are more comfortable for everyone. Through careful use of colour, functionality and sound-absorbing textiles, my projects aim to create spaces that feel calm, clear and welcoming.
