Ellie Cranfield

Hi, my name is Ellie and during my time at KLC, I have gained a wide range of skills that have reinforced my interest in spatial exploration, technical aspects, and architectural detailing. This experience has helped me understand how to design spaces that are both practical and sensitive to the architectural character of a site. It has also allowed me to think beyond the initial concept, focusing on how the design will function in reality and how it can be effectively constructed.

The projects below demonstrate the skills I have developed. The first project presents a unique interpretation of what a restaurant can be, drawing inspiration from the location’s history and the needs of the local community. The design creates a harmonious connection with nature, resulting in a vibrant and immersive experience that reflects the client’s vision of a lively, engaging space. The second project showcases a technical staircase design for a hair salon, highlighting my ability to balance technical knowledge with aesthetic considerations. It demonstrates how function and form can come together to support the overall design and atmosphere of the salon.
