BA (Hons) Interior Design
Hello! I’m a mixed-race Singaporean, born in Malaysia, currently residing between the UK and Malta. Having lived in seven countries, I’ve developed a strong ability to adapt to different environments, cultures, and expectations. This global perspective has shaped me into a resilient and resourceful individual with a flexible approach to both life and design.
My professional journey began in Civil and Structural Engineering Design. I went on to become a design engineer, BIM specialist, and freelance software tutor. I’ve worked on large-scale projects in Singapore, including the Google Data Centre, MRT stations and depots, and airport runway infrastructure. These experiences built a solid technical foundation and sharpened my problem-solving skills, especially under the high-pressure demands of complex projects—skills I now bring into the creative field of interior design.
Currently, I freelance as a tutor, supporting part-time interior design students who often struggle to keep up with the pace of their courses. Guiding them has been a rewarding experience and has deepened my passion for teaching.
Throughout university, my design work often explored unconventional and thought-provoking topics. I’m drawn to projects that challenge norms and invite critical dialogue. With a design style influenced by postmodernism, I focus on creating work that is not only visually compelling but also meaningful and socially responsive. For me, design is more than aesthetics—it’s a way to solve problems and engage with real-world issues.
Looking ahead, I hope to teach at a university level after gaining more industry experience. My multidisciplinary background and diverse life journey have equipped me to encourage the next generation of designers to think independently, challenge convention, and design with purpose.
