Phoebe Barron
My work from BA (Hons) Top Up at KLC School of Design features a breadth of skills and knowledge consisting of three primary projects. The first features a retail design project based in 2040, with a brief to design a store for the future target consumer. The second features a detailed working drawings project, acquiring the necessary skills to create refined technical drawings for a bespoke staircase featured within the conceptual retail store. My final project focuses on social design to target a social issue of my own choosing in a location of my own choosing. Throughout my various projects and portfolio, my design style gravitates towards the importance of tactility and biophilic elements, with specific importance to evoke multi-sensory experiences as well as empathetic design features. I have gained inspiration from a multitude of digital and physical stimuli, from House & Garden to National Trust houses & the Barbican’s Conservatory. Completing a BA (Hons) Interior Design with KLC has been both a challenging and rewarding experience, with an evident progression to prepare for the world of Interior Design. Following from my studies, I am now working as a Junior Interior Designer at Tobias Oliver Interiors based in Hertfordshire. It has been such an eye-opening and rewarding introduction into the industry, with the ability to apply my knowledge and skills into real life projects.
