Isabelle Allen
Hi, i'm Izzy! I am a 22 year old interior designer taking the first steps towards a career in interior design; something I have dreamed of since I was a little girl. I have recently completed the HE applied diploma in interior design at KLC School of Design, after having received a first-class degree in photography, specialising in interior photography at Kingston School of Art. Studying at KLC has enabled me to not only discover the technicalities needed to take my idea's and implement them into a space which is functional and comfortable, it has also introduced me to the world of conceptual design, challenging me to create spaces which hold meaning and tell a story; something that is hugely important when designing a project aimed to draw attention and interest towards a space.
Creativity and the arts has always been what drives me, with my experience in a professional career beginning at the young age of 9, when I was spotted in my junior school play, and 6 months later was playing Young Cosette in the film adaptation of Les Miserables. This meant I had to learn about the importance of professionalism, hard work, and the ability to take on strong criticism, incredibly quickly, whilst being in the public eye. Although acting is something I have always loved, interior design is my true passion, and working for six months as an intern for furniture brand, "Assieds-Toii" along-side my diploma, allowed me to gain experience in another side of design; homing in on the process behind furniture design, and growing a furniture company; an experience I have taken a lot from.
I am so pleased to be beginning the exciting process of applying for interior design roles and stepping foot into an industry where I am able to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues; continuing to learn and grow as a designer with every project. I would be excited to speak to you in more depth and share my portfolio. If you would like any firther information, please feel free to contact me using the email address above.
